Privacy is an important issue for today and to delete search history is a skill that people need to know.

 

When you type in Google’s search box to make a search, you might notice that lists of items that you have previously searched for are being displayed. These searches are not saved by Google website but is rather saved by the web browser that you are using what is called “Autocomplete”. The “Autocomplete” feature is used by several web browsers like Internet Explorer and Firefox. The purpose of which is to give assistance to users when they either perform web searches or to fill out forms in the web. The browsers are attempting to anticipate what you are typing and offers likely matches using any previous information that you have previously typed.


 

What this means is that whenever you start entering texts in a Google search box, a list of your previously searched for items will be shown in a drop down. Internet users are especially concerned about this because it lessens their privacy on the World Wide Web which is why they need to delete search history.

 

Internet Explorer 7

Open the Internet Explorer program. Select “Internet options” from the “Tools” menu. Select the tab with the “General” label. Select “Delete” under the Browser History. Choose “Delete Forms” next to the Form data. Click on “Yes” to delete search history.

 

Internet Explorer 6

Open the Internet Explorer program. Select “Internet options” from the “Tools” menu. Select the tab with the “Content” label. Select “Autocomplete” under the Personal History. Choose “Clear Forms”. Click on “Yes” to delete search history.

 

Firefox

Open the Firefox program. Select “Options” from the Tools menu. Choose the “Privacy” tab. Click on “Clear now. . .”. Check the box with the label “Saved Form and Search History”. Click on “Clear Private Data Now” to delete search history.
